I hired Mark Nazar to renovate my small basement bathroom. I gave him a very tight budget to work with, and he respected my budget, keeping costs of material and labour within my budget. Before getting started, Mark drafted up a contract detailing all the work he would do on my bathroom, complete with a day to day schedule. Mark adhered to the schedule and updated me on his progress every day. At the end of the job, I was very pleased with the quality of his craftsmanship and the experience I had working with him. On top of that, Mark is a genuinely nice guy, and his team of workers are good fellows and hard workers. I highly recommend Mark, and I will be calling him again when I'm ready to renovate my entire basement.

Mark Nazar, the company owner, was one of the last contractors I contacted about my basement bathroom addition. By the time we spoke I had been in touch with at least 8 other contractors who either terrified me with their seeming lack of professionalism or their outrageous pricing and seeming disregard to listen to what it was I actually wanted done. Thankfully Mark came round, listened, submitted a quote outlining the content, discussed it with me and won the job. During the work we hit the usual "hiccups" but he discussed these snags with me, gave me options and advise, and worked through to give me what I wanted. All in all a pleasure to work with and I would recommend him to family and friends. The world of home renovation is a minefield, tread carefully. We were looking for a contractor to work on a number of smaller projects around our home, such as renovate main floor powder room and laundry room, upgrade our basement bathroom as well as upgrade our lighting system throughout our basement (rec room, study, etc.). Basement renovation I was looking for an artsy finish to my basement and I looked in the yellow pages to fit my needs. I had Mark Nazar come in and he and his team did such a good job that his price is hard to believe. To be fair he is the second contractor that I worked with but by far the best of the two. Converted garage to den We had Artistic Contracting renovate our home in Etobicoke in September of 2011. We were extremely pleased with not only the level of service but also the attention to detail. After living with our kitchen for over 20 years, we decided to renovate our kitchen and felt the Fall Home Show would be a great place to meet with contractors. There we met Mark Nazar and decided a follow-up meeting was in order. As a result, he was one of two contractors we invited to our home for further discussion. In the end, we were not disappointed. During our renovation, either he was on site during the day or part of the day or we were in contact with him. There were days when he said he would be at our home at a certain time. If he was unable to arrive by the set time, we would receive a phone call, letting us know where he was. In all cases, the delays were because he had to stop for materials or supplies for our home. During the course of the renovation, unforeseen events occurred. In all cases, Mark would let us know what was happening and presented us with options. He and his team responded and the project moved forward. Not only were we pleased with Mark’s work, but that of his crew, each a true professional. They were all easy to deal with and always cleaned up at the end of the day. The only delays in our kitchen renovation resulted from events beyond his control – the installation of the cupboards and countertop. During the entire process, he kept us in the loop and expedited small items such as minor touch-ups to the cupboards. When the project was complete, there was only one minor issue outstanding. One of the electrical outlets did not fit into the wall properly and, as a result, the electrical outlet cover would not sit flush against the backsplash. Despite this very small issue, I would recommend Mark Nazar and The Art of Renovation for your home renovation project without any hesitation. He and his team are true professionals.
